[Just a little something.]

So I haven't been around much lately. Too much to do? Somewhat yes, somewhat no.

I have been on vacation all week, not that I went anywhere. I just stayed home with Kyle. It's been all kinds of mushy wonderful.

Wow, when I started this, I very much planned on talking. Oh well.
Back to my book!

[So... tired....]

Yesterday, my dad asked me if I'd mind sleeping over at the house to keep watch over my fourteen year old baby sister. I said sure, as Kyle was supposed to work last night. Due to certain circumstances, he didn't end up going in, so (with paternal permission) he came over with me. Spent the time killing time, actually. Uploaded Sims 2 on Baby Sister's laptop, and she played with that all night, mostly ignoring everyone. We certainly ate like college students: first we had take-out Chinese, then we went to the ice cream parlor, and after Younger Brother came home (he's older than Baby Sister, but younger than Little Sister) with his entourage we had pizza.

It was interesting. Odd, kind of fun, but interesting. It certainly reminded me that Baby Sister is growing up fast. At Kyle's request, she "made me up." As in, put makeup on me. Baby Sister and Little Sister are the girly-girls in the family. I'm the tomboy. So I have no idea, really, how to put any of those things on. I felt so false once it was on, and even more pale than usual. Shortly thereafter, I had to wash it off. Makeup is just... not me. Not now, not really.

I had permission to sleep in the Parents' bedroom, but optioned against that in favor of crashing in the living room with Kyle. I know, I know, why not just have the both of us crash in the bed? One the one hand, it's out of respect for the Parents. On the other... it's just odd to consider sleeping in their bed. Ick. So Kyle slept on the couch, and I made a bed for myself next to it. As we were readying ourselves for sleep (watching Family Guy on DVD on my Dad's big fancy TV), Kyle kept dozing off and lightly snoring. I didn't think anything off it, he often snores lightly. But once I moved down to my "bed" in the hope of sleeping soundly (despite the fact that I was sleeping on the floor), his snores increased in volume and frequency. I mean, he hasn't snored this bad since he moved in with me. And it kept me awake. Then, once sleep claimed me, his snoring woke me. And woke me. And woke me. So I'm kind of grumpy.

I woke up, nudged Kyle in case he actually wanted to wake at eleven in the morning like he said (we went to bed shortly after five in the morn), and once he rolled back over, grumped out of bed. Used the facilities, brushed my teeth, and went hunting for the bloody coffee pot. After that was the fervent search for sugar. I've had two cups thus far. I'm considering another, as I can still feel that so sleepy fog lying in the front of my brain.

I'll have to work tonight, but I'm thinking I may take some sort of nap come "dinner time" (dinner time for most people, it's generally lunch for me, sometimes breakfast) to make sure I last through my shift tonight.

Baby Sister's awake now, so is Kyle. I wonder when Little Brother and friends are going to crawl out of his cave (aka, the basement)? Oh, coffee... I have missed thee.

Utter nonsense.

"Farscape" is truly an enjoyable show. We finally managed to get more of Kyle's things (two large items left behind, two totes, and the telly to be gotten within a week). Among them was more DVDs of this fantastic show. Finally getting to see more of it is quite nifty.

Had to pull money out of thin air, however, to ensure the items in question wouldn't be lost. Which means, naturally, we're going to have an extremely thin budget come next paycheck. But we'll deal, we always do. Hopefully we can find someone to loan us a way to get the large items home. A truckbed, a trailer, something.

I definitely don't look forwards to moving all these things to someplace new in two months. Arg. That's going to be fun. Maybe that's what I should save my vacation week for. Packing and moving. Scrubbing and cleaning, and all those fascinating things.

That's the troublesome thing with moving. It's always so much work! ::laughs:: Oh, well. Hopefully we'll get a two bedroom place, so we can have the library. As we have laptops, the computers can move in an out, so that's no big. But I look forward to having a quiet, cushy place to read. Ooh, we'll have to get a CD player then. Either with classical music, or "sounds of nature" CDs.

I look forward to having a room of peace, you know. Books and quiet, comfortable chairs and tea candles, soft music and relaxation. That'll be the joy of a library. Kyle wants one of these huge cushy beanbag chairs. I'm indifferent, though I do admit a designated reading chair or some such would be nice.
