Last Update For A While Here

Hey there kiddoes! Long time, no see, hmm?

Remember when I said I had news from a while back...? Well, that news has come to fruition with the creation of my new blog ---- PostedContests! What is my new blog about? Well, I play the role of Your Friendly Contest Finder, and any contest that tickles my fancy ends up on my page! I've been pretty good about doing at least one or two contests per day, and I'm trying to spread the word.

I've also tried to leave it open that anyone hosting a contest (that interests me) can email me to request I blog about it, and if someone wants me to review an item (to subsequently hold a contest about, so long as I get to keep my sample), all they have to do is email me.

So if any of you reading this want me to post a contest or do a review (subject to terms, blah blah blah, lol), just email me at postedcontests(at)gmail.com!

And, as a final note, in case any of you noticed, I did tuck away both of my other blogs, that PostedContests becomes the focus. This is in part because both Rebecca's Ramblings, and Rebecca Goes To Stuttgart have my real name in them... and that's not something I really want to advertise, seeing as I'm trying to get lots of strangers to come check out my blog.

Sorry no recent updates on this blog. I'm all kinds of blog happy, what, with posting randomness on one of my Xangas, serious stuff on the Xanga nobody knows about, and keeping busy with PostedContests, Rebecca's Ramblings has just taken a backseat. When I get back on my dieting track (my diet is still currently DIET=FAIL as I haven't lost *any* weight whatsoever, and boy is it becoming quite frustrating), I'll be back to post on this one. Until then... well, do you like contests?

I'm not sure if there's anybody out there actually reading this thing, but my fiance and I are going to Germany to visit his father for a nearly-three-week vacation, and I'm blogging all about it HERE. If you're interested in keeping up with me, check it out!

Life is... lively?

Haven't been here in a while. Sorry. A lot going on in life. Maybe be back when I can. Later.

Someone's been a bad, bad girl.

Well, any dieting plans I had for today flew out the window the moment I woke up. Depression decided to pop on over for a visit for most of today. And what did I do? Yes, I did the terrible thing that I have tried to avoid: Comfort/boredom eating. I snacked today. And snacked. Oh, how I snacked! ::sigh:: I'm not giving up, I'm just disappointed in myself, a bit. I guess it's a good thing that most of the foods in our house now are diet, or low-fat, or low-cal, or otherwise natural healthy foods. I know it's best to keep with portions and moderation, but since I blew that today, it's better that I om-nom-nom-ed on somewhat healthier foods than their full-fat, full-cal, full-carb counterparts. I guess.

Didn't go jogging today. Kyle pulled a muscle earlier, so we opted to stay home. Wednesday is still Jog Day, should all go as planned.

You know, I was just sitting around thinking today that maybe I should break out the old DDR game and control pads. I haven't played in forever, maybe I can get back into it. The hard part for me is, if I do it just for the sake of exercising (specifically to lose weight), then I lose interest in the game itself. It no longer is something fun and interesting, but a burden set to music. Maybe I should set it up, give it another go. Could be fun, no? And maybe I'll buy another game besides DDR Supernova, some other incarnation, so I can have different songs. I was also thinking maybe I could enjoy the Dance Factory video game, or the Yourself! Fitness game, you know? Something fun an interactive that I can do a home. Maybe.

I told Kyle about my desire to own a stationary bike at home (always been self-conscious about "exercising" in public, to the point that I jog after dark to limit the possible human interaction). He said he'd check Craigslist for me, and I thought maybe I should check the papers for something. I just want something simple, that I can set somewhere in my house, and go for a relaxing "ride" a few times a week, you know? No hassle, no harm, and best of all, no foul people.

Well, here's hoping tomorrow I will have better luck controlling myself and my emotional state. Bipolar never makes it easy, but I've gotten so much better that setbacks like todays always bug me for a little while afterward. Bah. Monkeys.

Night folks.

[Quiz! and DSG.]

So these days I find I've been spending a bunch of time on the FB group I created (Dieting Support Group, aka DSG). We've only got seven members, but I'm hopeful that it'll catch on with a few more people (haha, you know, like the ones I don't know personally). I'm the major poster there, but I kind of expected that, at least at the start. Most people don't know it exists, so I've been telling my friends and blogging my blogs about it, hoping to generate more interest and get more dieters on there.

Today I spent time finding more dieting blogs online and posting links to them, and creating this quiz for the members. Feel free to copy and paste it here into the comments if you like, I'd love to see your answers!

All right, that's all for today. Later!

1) What's your favorite type of exercise? Why?
Strangely enough, I really like push-ups. I find the repetitive action really relaxing. Well I used to, anyway. I really need to get further back into working out!
2) What's your least favorite type of exercise and why?
I really can't stand jumping jacks. They look stupid and make me feel ridiculous. I just don't enjoy doing them.
3) What's your favorite kind of junk/comfort food?
Ooh, this one's evil. I'd have to say either Ben and Jerry's "Mint Chocolate Cookie" ice cream, or, lately, Cool Ranch Doritos with sour cream.
4) What's your least favorite "good for you" food that you make yourself eat in an effort to be healthy?
That would be...hmm... Well, it's technically not a food, but a drink, and that would be non-fat (aka skim) milk. I love, love, love whole milk, but they say that skim milk is better for you when you're trying to lose weight, so.... Bleh.
5) What made you decide to start dieting (this time, if you're a repeater)?
Well, besides the fact that I'm the heaviest I've ever been in my life, it was a pink skirt I bought and only wore once. You see, once upon a time, I wore a size 16 for about ... 5 months? And then I started gaining weight... and gaining... so... Well, long story short, I want to wear that skirt again. And if possible, get past wearing that skirt in a size 16 to shopping for one like it in 14, or maybe even 12. Hey, I can dream.
6) What advice or words of wisdom would you offer to the rest of us on here?
To me, the hardest thing about a diet is sticking to it. You get to a point where you plateau, so you think that maybe it'll never get better. So you quit. And then you're sad, or angry, or apathetic again about your current weight and etc. So I'm hoping to take my own advice (and give it to all of you, though it's a cheesy and obvious one): DON'T GIVE UP.
